The reality of creating “harmony” with heaven and earth first begins with understanding the connection to time and space.

Here is the the easy version, of time and space that ties the month of your birth with the four directions of the compass.

The four directions: north, south, east, west, and the four seasons, winter-summer-spring and fall.
Make up the four phases of feng shui.

north for winter.
south for summer.
east for spring.
west for fall.

Were you born in the winter? were you born in the spring? were you born in the fall?
Along with the compass “direction”, is were you would you need to go in order to create your personal harmony.

For example, let’s say spring time in Los Angeles is when you were born. Your birth direction would be east. This is the direction that corresponds to spring, see above.

If Los Angeles is the starting point of your life because that is where you came into the world. To find accomplishment, success or personal harmony, you would need to go towards the east. This would mean anywhere that is east of the place you were born.

Later down the path of life, the place you work at or the location of your office should be east of where you were born.
This basic idea is no different than the reasoning behind wearing short sleeves in the summer and long sleeves in the winter. If you were born in the winter, your direction to success is north. If you were born in the fall your direction is west. You want to move in the right direction. A direction that ensures you that you are “going with the flow”. Remember, the place you were born at, is your center position.

Feng Shui is the definitive art of living in harmony and balance with nature. And the vast majority of Feng Shui articles focus on how you can increase your income, stop fighting with family members or co-workers, and improve your health by adhering to Feng Shui principles in your home or place of business.

But what about the darker side of Feng Shui? I will share with you some little-known facts:

Certain house types are more prone to attracting ghosts, especially when they have not just one, but several of the following components:

Houses built right into a mountain side.

Houses that are perpetually dark and damp.

Houses that are older because there is statistically a greater chance of past occupants being relentlessly attached to the property.

Houses where someone died.

Houses built on top of native American battle fields or grave sites.

Houses within blocks of a cemetery or even a church.

Houses very close to criminal activity, prostitution, alcohol and drug consumption.

Houses close to hospitals (where people die).

Houses close to slaughter-houses.

Houses with a lot of banana trees on the property.

Houses with poorly-placed wind-chimes. This one comes as a surprise to many Feng Shui novices who think that hanging wind-chimes is a symbol of good luck and protection. There are some house types where wind-chimes can ATTRACT a ghost!

. . . . RUSH dragon

How to rid your home of ghosts:

Based on some of the circumstances which attract ghosts to begin with, it is not always an easy task. This is where the popular practice of ritual space-clearing can often help. Burning sage, thoroughly cleaning your home, and eliminating excessive moisture and darkness in the environment are usually mandatory. It also requires a very concentrated meditative mind to address the ghost and gently usher it back into the light.

Ghosts are confused beings. They somehow missed passing on to the next after-life dimension and they hang out on earth without a physical body to express basic human urges. How would you like to be hungry with no stomach to feed? How would you like to be confused and disoriented as to why other people are living in your house and completely ignoring you? This is why priests, “ghost-busters”, paranormal experts and shamanic type space-clearers need to muster incredible focus to help free the ghost from being trapped on the earth plane.

Sometimes a home owner can talk frankly to the ghost and ask it to leave, but that is only if the ghost recognizes what has happened. Not all ghosts are former human beings either. Your beloved cat that you buried in your back yard may have returned.

Grave sites:

Historically, a big branch of Feng Shui knowledge (called Yin House Feng Shui) is devoted to the divination of grave sites. For centuries, the Chinese have believed that a poorly situated grave site could cause a spiritual, social, political or economic downfall for future generations of the deceased.

This still remains one of the most secret parts of Feng Shui wisdom since the application of Yin House Feng Shui can impact families for so many generations. In order for the dearly departed to truly rest in peace, the total surrounding environment adjacent to the grave must have specific topographical features, such as the proper shapes of nearby mountains.

The actual grave needs to be positioned so that the body can rest in a good direction for that person, based on their own astrology. This means that it is very individualized, just like Feng Shui for the living.

Cosmic lines of energy are transmitted from underground and into the bones of the body at rest. Those bones are energetically connected to the bodies of all living descendants. We even have a saying in our own culture that someone could be “turning in their grave” if they knew what misfortune or negativity was happening to a living relative.

To print the Feng Shui Bagua Map

click on it once to load it
then click on it again, to print or save it to a file.

&nbspfront entrance to any doorway is referenced by the bottom-center blue area.

The color chart above is an illustration of a Bagua map, pronounced Ba-gwa. It is used in feng shui to find out which part of your home or office correlates with a particular situation in your life. There are 5 elements of feng shui in addition to the colors.

The Five elements of feng shui are: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.

Fire elements in the rear middle.
Earth elements in the center.
Metal elements in the middle right.
Water elements in the front middle.
Wood elements in the middle left.

Before I get carried away on the five elements of feng shui I just wanted to clarify for you that elements are also known as objects. Meaning that, when we say wood elements, they refer to wooden furniture, wooden ducks, wood picture frames, anything made of wood. Metal elements, those are products or items made of metal. Fire elements are things like fireplaces, red flowers, a red box or even a red throw pillow. Those are things with red in them and are considered to be part of the feng shui color fire elements. The same goes for the Water and Earth elements. These are items or products that have water characteristics such as those little water fountains you plug into the outlets and put on your table, or a fish tank, things like that. Earth elements could be rocks, plants, pictures of your lawn, a small bonsai tree, anything that deals with the earth. Those are elements, and above I have given you examples of the elements.

One thing to keep in mind, put these elements in their prospective places so that they can help you with the topics that are listed in the map.

Now, back to the feng shui colors. They are:
1) yellow, gold and earth tones
2) blues and greens
3) blues, reds and purples
4) red
5) reds, pinks and white
6) white and pastels
7) white, grays and black
8) black and dark tones
9) black, blues and some greens

When adding these colors to your living or office spaces you will be able to adjust your surroundings to maximize greater health and productivity. In addition to improving the quality of your life. This map can be used for individual rooms as well.

For instance, you will notice in the Center of the bagua map are the colors yellow, gold and earth tone colors. These serve as your center balance point and they touch the other areas of your life. A good starting point to add balance into your life. A lot of interior spaces have a ceiling fan or light fixture in the center location of the room that has shades of gold on it. If you have walking room in the center area, perhaps put a small table there with something gold or yellow on it. If you have no ceiling fan or light fixture in the center of the space you could hang something from the ceiling with a shade of gold, yellow or earth tone.

Don’t get this map confused with idolizing the color gold or yellow, or any of the other colors we are going to talk about. These are just feng shui principles that use color to help improve your well being and quality of life, think of them as feng shui tools, not an idol.

The next area of color we are going to briefly touch on revolves around health and family. These are your shades of green and blue. Green calms and soothes the mind, lowers blood pressure and relaxes the nervous system. Green is easy on the eye and can improve vision.
Green is the feng shui color of fresh energy and new beginnings. Does anybody remember the Avocado green 60s and 70s refrigerators? Did that occur to you as being a feng shui color? Those were the days, my friend. Olive green is another feng shui color that can promote peace, health, physical healing and fertility. It is a calming, refreshing color. People waiting to appear on TV sit in “green rooms” to relax.

How the color green helps your family life. It strengthen the hope, longevity and vitality of family relationships. It signifies growth and renewal. The family bagua is the wood element of the feng shui bagua map and it is enhanced by the color green. Placing green plants and hanging wood framed photos in this area will greatly enhance family relationships.

Green is life. Abundant in nature, health and environment. The military uses green, why do you suppose that they strive to be a close knit family within their own? On the flip side, green is jealousy or envy (green-eyed monster) and inexperience.

Blue is a refreshing feng shui color. It spans the gentle aqua blue to the blue-green of the ocean. In feng shui we associate blue with the sky and the waters. Blue is the color of loyalty and faith and promotes protection within the family. Blue foods can also reduce blood pressure and calms the nervous system. Blueberries are extremely beneficial to our immune system and health.

Purple is also favored as a recommended color since it symbolizes wealthy ideals, including truth and love. It is also the color of successive thinkers such as philosophers, dreamers, writers, and visionaries. Painting your office in variations of purple can increase creativity and bring on favorable results.

Gray is suppose to fade into the rooms background and causes other colors to stand out prominently. Feng Shui decorators always look for balance and harmony in the decor by using equal yin and yang. Gray is neutral, neither yin or yang. It represents a combining of the two colors.

Black symbolizes helpfulness and desire to travel. It is used to promote strength, power and skill. Considered a water element color, it also develops strength and emotional protection. It is important to use black more as an accessory, as it can be too overwhelming and negative in large amounts.

Brown symbolizes reliability and faithfulness. This earthy yin color should be used in small quantifies around the home. Too much brown is depressive.

Red is very popular in feng shui decor. This good luck color awakens the energies in the room. Too much red in interior decorations causes hot tempers to flare and emotional outburst.

In closing, the Colors of Feng Shui can have a great impact in our lives when used in a particular area of our homes or offices. By following the map and using the recommended colors from the area’s shown on the map. It will greatly enhance those situations that are shown on the feng shui bagua map. Situations and concerns that are in everyone of us. Be careful not-to-over-do-it with these colors. The energy can be dissipated if you over do it. For example, black represents power, authority and respect, but TOO MUCH black signals despair and doom. Be subtle, it is more effective that way.

July 8th, 2010

Middle of September, 1957 during a hot summer afternoon in Beijing China. In an inner room of the White Cloud Monastery a somewhat bored seven year old boy, Wu Waize was thinking of what kind of game he could play be himself. While doing so, he sees a thousand-year-old chair and his temptation begins to wonder. Like it has done so many times before. His temptation gets the best of him and he climbs up onto the chair. The chair that is said to belong to Wang Chongyang, the legendary founder of the Dragon Gate Sect.

So little Wu Waize decides in his mind, why not, the ancient chair is small and it’s just about the right size for him to sit in, besides no one else is looking. So little Wu climbs up and settles himself in. He begins to rock back and forth, tilting the chair further and further, rocking, and rocking until – - -snap – - a leg on the chair breaks and he tumbles to the ground.
Being a resourceful child he figures that he can fix the chair before anyone will know what had happened. No such luck in walks the majestic figure of his teacher, the Grand Master of the Dragon Gate Sect, Venerable Master Du.

Up to your tricks again, boy? Instead of trying to stick that piece of wood back together with your hands, why don’t you take a closer look at it? The little boy’s fright turns to amazement as he peers at the ancient calligraphy lining the hollow of the broken chair leg. Traced in delicate characters it was written: In the fifth month of the Northern Song Shaoxing year, I, Wang Chongyang sit in this chair.
Nine hundred and thirty seven years from today, on the fourteenth day of the ninth month, Wu Waize will break this chair in the afternoon, around five o’clock.

The young boy coughs in awe. The day was September 14, 1957
and the temple bells are just striking five.

lighting the eye of the dragon . . the paperback

The chair now sits on display in the Museum of Chinese History, opposite the Chinese Parliament in Tiananmen Square.

And Wu Waize, now known as Dr. Baolin Wu, had his first encounter with the mystical mind of the Taoist philosophy (Taoism) at the age of seven. Today lives in Los Angele’s where he is a leading doctor of Chinese medicine and Qigong healing.

Wang Chongyang

In addition to being the founder of the Dragon Gate Sect, Wang Chongyang created his branch of Daoism that became known as the Quanzhen Sect (School).

There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not Taoism is different than Daoism.
Wikipedia classifies the two has one, in this entry: Taoism vs. Daoism
But again in Wikipedia, a second entry of the two is seen here: Daoism–Taoism, classifying them to be a romanization issue. Which is the difference between a written word or spoken speech.

Wang Chongyang: (960 – 1127)
Wang was born in a village in the Shaanxi Province of China. He embraced many of what he considered the better aspects of the three teachings which dominated China’s religions at the time – Daoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism and incorporated them into the Quanzhen school.

There are a lot of websites on the internet that claim Wang Chongyang was born in the year 1113 and died in the year 1170. And show his photo as being this:

That seems to be a pretty good photo wouldn’t you say? Besides the fact that the first photograph ever recorded was taken in 1814 by Nicéphore Niépce using a sliding wooden box camera.

I choose to believe that Wang was born in the year 960 and died in the year 1127 as stated above. I understand that those years represent a 167 year life span. I also believe that in the article at the top of this page. Wu Waize (now known as Dr. Baolin Wu) found a ancient scroll in 1957 written by Wang – some Nine hundred and thirty seven years earlier. That would have put the time of Wang’s scroll at the year 1020. How I learned of the 937 year old prediction was from a book written by Dr. Baolin Wu himself.

You will see below some brief history of Li Ching-Yuen, developer of the health system product “Jiulong Baguazhang”. And how he was Supposedly said to have lived a longer life span then Wang.

Flying Dragon Qigong

Qigong is the physical practice of opening one’s body and mind to the subtle shiftings of Qi.

Qi (pronounced chee) is a Chinese word referring to “life energy”
